Birmingham, Alabama

Convention guests in Birmingham love time spent in this spirited city.  From fine dining to inviting taprooms, the city entertains long after the meetings conclude.  That famous Southern hospitality was practically invented in Birmingham.

Birmingham is situated in the rolling foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, giving the area dramatic topography.  Neighborhoods throughout the city are filled with  homegrown restaurants and neighborhood nightspots are plentiful.

The Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport, just seven minutes from downtown, handles more than 100 flights daily.  Alabama's largest meeting facility is the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC).  The campus has 350,000 square feet of exhibition and meeting space, an 18,000 seat arena and 4,000 seats in two theaters.  The CVB's award-winning convention services department is well known for its creativity and attention to detail.
